Graham & Anne

OUR STORY

We met in high school...

Anne sat two seats in front of Graham in World History class sophomore year at Carmel High School. Graham, hoping to impress the multi-sport Soccer and Cheerleading athlete and the future Homecoming Queen, used to wait after class to walk with Anne between classes. Anne, having to get to her next class, obliged. Shortly after was our first date. We had a picnic at Lakewood Forest Preserve, with our mutual friend Jake. Anne drove her ragtop red Jeep Wrangler and Graham’s mom dropped him off because he couldn’t drive yet. After the picnic, we dropped Jake off at Cross Country practice and Graham asked Anne if “you wanna go out?” We fell in love. And we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together!

THE PROPOSAL

Bear Creek Spire

Yes, up there. On top. Don’t worry mom, we used ropes and years of technical rock climbing practice to protect us from falling. At the top of Bear Creek Spire, Graham, terrified, got down on one knee and proposed. “Of Course!” Anne responded. As a large afternoon storm brewed, we snapped hilariously candid photos of ourselves. Not dressed to impress, we entered the next stage of our life together true to ourselves. After a hurried descent, we made it back to our basecamp in the trees right as the hail and lightning started. A few hours of hiking later, we made it out of the mountains and into our future home on the wonderful Sierra Eastside.

SHE SAID

“Of Course!”
